This livelihood assistance program is designed to support low-income families who rely on small-scale fish vending as their primary source of daily income.
- The Challenge:
In Sri Lanka, small-scale vendors travel from village to village to sell fresh fish. However, many do not own their own bicycles and are forced to rent them daily, which reduces their overall earnings and increases their financial burden.
- The Intervention:
The project will provide 25 bicycles and plastic fish transport boxes to 25 deserving beneficiary families.
- Total Budget:
The estimated total cost for this project is $7,275 USD.
- Expected Impact:
Beneficiaries will eliminate their daily bicycle rental expenses. Household incomes will increase due to improved efficiency and mobility in distributing fish within the villages. The initiative will enhance the economic stability of these vulnerable families and contribute to rural poverty reduction.

This project focuses on empowering economically disadvantaged fishermen in coastal areas of Sri Lanka by equipping them with essential tools for their trade.
- The Challenge:
Fishing is a primary livelihood for many in coastal regions; however, numerous fishermen lack the resources to operate independently. Because they depend on businessmen for boats and nets, their personal income remains severely limited.
- The Intervention:
The foundation will directly support 5 fishermen and their families by providing them with 5 fibre fishing boats, nylon fishing nets, and fish containers.
- Total Budget:
The estimated total cost for this project is $3,175 USD.
- Expected Impact:
The provision of equipment will promote self-employment opportunities and strengthen the economic independence of the fishermen. Beneficiary families will experience an increase in their household income. The project will establish sustainable livelihood opportunities and contribute to poverty reduction within coastal communities.
